NETWORKING TIPS…

So today’s topic is networking. Let me clear you first that what networking means- networking is all about building a relationship. It means to expand your reach of network and spread your business recognizance. Building a network is about creating a genuine and caring relationship. Networking helps in growing your business faster. It helps in promotion, making connections, sharing information and credibility.  Now I am going to give some tips to improve your networking skills.

Collect contacts

As we already know that networking is all about building a relationship, to expand your reach of the network. For expanding your reach you have to go outside and meet people and take their contacts. The more you have contacts, the more you have opportunities. You can attend live events or also can be active on social media to interact with people.

Always arrive earlier

Being early at a networking event is a better strategy than being there later on the side. As a first attendee, you’ll notice that it’s quite easy to explore the place. It’s easier to find other people who don’t have conversation partners yet.  You can talk to anyone with ease because people haven’t divided into groups, you will find a single person roaming around there. You can make a group of people who has the same interest as yours.

Start the conversation first

Don’t wait for someone to approach you first. To start a conversation, go to a person or group and simply ask ‘may I join you’. Try to be a natural extrovert, if you may not be a natural extrovert, try to be a good listener. Listening can be a good way to know a person. The more you talk with a person the more you will get closer. Ditch the formal way of talking, just try to crack some funny jokes. Always remember, people, love to be with a person who has a great sense of humor and are interesting by nature.

Forget about sales

Never ever pretend that you are meeting with a person for a reason of profit. Ditch the slang of sales. You don’t need to do the hard sell within minutes of meeting a person. Be totally informal in front of them and try to be friends first. Build a good relationship so that they can be convinced to you and next time they will listen to you seriously when you will share your business ideas or attempt any for the sales process.

Make them curious

Win over people by showing your intensity for your product or service. Leave a lasting impression by telling, why you have chosen to be in that sector. Share your passion for your work. Your enthusiasm will attract people to join you. When you share your passion with others, it creates a memorable two-way conversation.

Make your nervousness look pretty-just smile

Smiling is the easiest way to kill your nervousness. And it is also a warm way to invite others to talk with you because you look pretty and quite easy to talk with. Remember to smile before starting a conversation. Smiling makes other people comfortable to sit with you.

Be a conversationalist

The two-way conversation always works. Don’t hijack the conversation. Let them speak. Answer them positively and try to make them feel special. Always make them feel that you have respect for their feelings. Don’t command the discussion. This will result in a positive impact on their mind and also you will get to know what exactly they want, and then you can do an extraordinary follow-up after knowing their needs.

Gain their interest

To make the other person interested in you motivate them first. Tell them some success stories. Share your problems and tell them how you solved them. Present a solution telling a story about how you helped similar persons.

Follow-up is compulsory Networking is, where the conversation begins, not ends. Ask them the best way to get in touch with them. Get them in touch within 48 hours of the meeting to show them that you are interested and available. Meet or talk with them continuously to keep yourself in their mind.
